It´s a very unpopulated area but the region´s largest touristical area of the province of Salamanca. It contains a series of mountain populations of enormous monuments, places of great scenic beauty, rich in folklore, handicrafts and traditional cuisine. The mountain belongs to the Central System. It is a mountainous area with valleys of several rivers populated by large forested areas, high ground on the plateau where the plain north of Salamanca ends, with a series of summits among which is the Rock of France, 1723 m high, on top of which the highest Marian sanctuary in the world is located. |
