Comments: This valley was know as Taoro by the Guanches (primitive habitants of the island) and it was here whe the conquer of Tenerife ended on July, 28th, 1496. The mencey of Taoro accorded the end of the war with Alonso Fernández de Lugo (1456-1525). Many and famous visitors have praised its landscape and have enjoyed its beneficial climate, amongst them the naturalist, Alexander von Humboldt, that names one of the view points of the valley.
