Comments: The castle of Alarcon was build by Alfonso VIII, according to the chronicle of Alfonso X el Sabio, possibly over another arab building. The fortress was altered by the Infante Don Juan Manuel and the marquis of Villena. Nowadays it´s one of the better preserved spanish castles, from which its renaissance tower stands out. Now it has become a comfortable Hotel (Parador de Turismo).
